Sub-one-inch groups at 25 yards? Yes. The Apex Grade Gunsmith Fit Barrels set the standard for accuracy. When properly fitted to both the slide and the frame (locking block) of the pistol, these barrels can deliver 1.00” – and under – 5-shot groups at 25 yards, assuming you do your part. These barrels are machined from heat treated premium cold hammer stainless steel barrel blanks and feature a 1:10” twist rate along with Apex’s proprietary, patented locking geometry.

These barrels require fitting by a competent Gunsmith.

Conversion barrels:

All of the above listed barrels may be used as "Caliber Conversion" barrels for the M&P & M2.0 chambered in 40S&W and .357SIG.  Meaning, fitting the appropriate length Apex 9mm Gunsmith Fit barrel into your 40S&W or .357Sig M&P or M2.0 will allow you to shoot 9mm from your pistol.  You will need to use a 9mm magazine with this barrel for proper function.

We strongly recommend using these barrels in a "Conversion Barrel" capacity for training and/or practice use only.  If you're going to trust your life to your pistol, you really should purchase it in the caliber you plan to use it in.

Barrel Hood Side Gap: When our 9mm barrel is installed into a 40S&W or .357Sig slide, you will notice a gap on either side of the barrel hood.  This gap is normal and has no bearing on the accuracy of our barrels.

Extractors: If you choose to use our barrel as a "Conversion Barrel" and you experience extraction or feeding issues, we recommend you remove the extractor and clean the hook out thoroughly and the inside of the slide.  You should also consider an Apex Failure Resistant Extractor for your M&P or M2.0.

Recoil Assembly: When using these barrels as a "Conversion Barrel", we recommend using a factory recoil assembly appropriate for the caliber which matches your barrel.

Send in option: Requires your initial selection and purchase of an Apex barrel through us. You will then send your slide and locking block to us for a custom fitment. This service has a lead time of 7-14 days. If you don't have a locking block, you are able to purchase one through us, but these three parts are required to be fitted togther.

Please include your order number/name with your slide and locking block if choosing this option. If you don't send a locking block, you will be charged an additional $10 for this part prior to it being sent to you. 

Every slide and hand-fitted barrel will pass our final QC by being test fired with three full magazines without failure. This is our standard. Your slide and barrel will show wear from being fired due to this process. If you prefer a safe queen without any sign of being fired, we are not your business.
